Meet our Founder and CEO
Dr. Jo Maloney
Dr. Jo Maloney, Founder and CEO of Climate LinkUP with AMPLOYD, is recognised for her contributions as a European Commission postdoctoral Marie Skłodowska-Curie and Royal Society of London Fellow. With over 30 years of experience in environmental climate leadership, Dr. Maloney has held pivotal roles in science R&D, academia, sustainable policy development, management. Her expertise lies in bridging the gap between academia and industry to spearhead groundbreaking, pioneering global climate and sustainability initiatives aimed at achieving net-zero objectives. This includes founding: Climate LinkUP with the QUIN Institute for Sustainable Executive Education, AMPLOYD Green Talent Solutions and EDGE Ecosystem.
Jo Maloney’s academic journey began with a degree in Zoology with Geology, PhD in Marine Science specialising in marine pollution, followed by global roles across the environmental forensics and climate change space. Throughout her international career, Dr. Maloney has been dedicated to acquiring the knowledge and tools necessary for navigating the green transition while safeguarding the natural environment. Her visionary approach and commitment to environmental stewardship make her a driving force in the pursuit of a sustainable future. Climate LinkUP was born out of a shared recognition of the urgent need for decisive action in the face of the current declared Climate and Nature Emergencies, following Jo Maloney’s published UK Climate Report.
Meet our Head of Strategic Partnerships
Håkon Aasterud
Haakon joins our team as Head of Strategic Partnerships. Håkon’s professional journey spans from stockbroking to being a Senior Investment Associate. In 2020, he founded Silversky Investments, his own firm. With expertise in capital raising, venture capital, financial analysis and private equity, Håkon has contributed to a wide range of deal originations and fundraising, including 6 years of impact in sustainability and technology investing. He also contributes to content creation and event organisation within the private equity sector.
Håkon’s educational background includes a BS in Finance from BI Norwegian Business School and studies at Harvard Business School focusing on Alternative Investments. Throughout his career, he has been actively involved in university extracurricular activities, including finance committees and investment teams. Håkon is also a regular speaker at global events. He has been a panelist of EBAN and EU Erasmus talking about investments in agrifood and its impact on supply chains and society, and in London alongside HSBC, Numis, Canaccord and others discussing venture capital investments.
